A new adventure begins...

Glass? Really? Who would've ever thought?

In late April, I found an article by Gil Reynolds about making "glass clay" from powdered glass frit and a substance called Liquid Stringer. I was intrigued. The more that I thought about it, the more that I wanted to try my hand.

I bought frit, glass, and tools, and started to experiment by early May (07).

I found the best results came when I blended Gil's technique for "glass clay" with Liquid Stringer and Paul Kimball's technique of "Freeze N Fuse". Though I found both techniques independently, and thought to mix them together, I’m sure there are other artists out there with the same, or similar ideas. At the time, however, I couldn’t find any information about it. Since then, I have found a precious few that are making wonderful things. I am quite excited to see just what I can do with it.

What you'll find here are the fruits of my recent efforts. I'm really enjoying working with the glass and I'm diggin' the results.

What you see above is my wax "master" for my mold, a dry faerie made of powdered glass, and one that has already been fused.
