Butterfly & Violets Bracelet

In Europe, violets are the flower of love. People would sell small bouquets of them on the corners for beaus to give their beloveds. I enjoy every spring when thousands of them bloom wild in my backyard.

Butterflies are the symbol of transformation, grace and beauty. They are also rumored to be faeries in disguise. Faeries or not, I find them mesmerizing.

Knots, and stylized representations of knots, have been used for decoration since pre-Christian times. Most scholars believe they were first known to have been used by the Celts, but they may also have had Norse influence.

Some people believe that certain knots have certain meanings. While there isn't much to prove that idea historically, belief, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

I associate the triangular knots with concepts of the Trinity. For some, that might mean “Past-Present-Future”, “Land-Sea-Sky”, “Maiden-Mother-Crone” or “Father-Son-Holy Ghost”.

Turquoise Leaf Bracelet

It is believed that turquoise should be worn to bring luck, protect one's health, and connect one to the truth. It is also found in some of the earliest examples of jewelry and ornament.

I feel that leaves symbolize the green world. For me, this is healing, herbalism, compassion, mercy... and new beginnings or endeavors.

It would also be perfect for the avid gardener.
